Scope of the Position: Because of the life experiences and trauma histories that our youth present with, the lead behavior specialist must not only provide adequate safety and supervision, but must be actively engaged in the process of building relationships, understanding and solving problems as part of a team, and must offer energy, safety and commitment in their work with our youth through genuine, caring and empathic engagement.

Option 1
SPED Teacher, 12mo schedule (All general education licensed teachers will have a 12 month schedule with generous time off package)
Option 2
SPED Teacher, 10mo schedule (All special education licensed teachers will work 190 days with an additional 7 sick/personal days to use when school is in session)

Essential Responsibilities
- Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, caring atmosphere for youth at Brandon
- Demonstrate an understanding of child development relevant to the age group of the program.
- Demonstrate an ability to form and maintain positive, nurturing relationships with youth by building trust and supporting competencies through interest and active engagement.
- Demonstrate an awareness of the physical and emotional environment by contributing to the school being a place that is emotionally and physically safe, nurturing, appropriately engaging and stimulating, which fosters growth and resilience.
- Work as part of a team to identify needs and strategies to meet those needs.
- Training for and implementing physical intervention as needed
Qualifications
- BA Degree required; Masters degree preferred
- Valid MA teaching licensure
- Experience working in school setting or with similar population required
- Valid driver’s license. Valid DEEC CORI/Background check
Position is for grades 5-12.
Pay: $52,000 to 65,000 per year
