We are currently seeking a competent, hard-working, and eager Registered Nurse (RN) to support boys in both our Special Education Therapeutic Day School Program as well as our residential houses. The Program Nurse will provide skilled healthcare in manner that is consistent with current professional nursing practice standards with a focus on promoting both the physical and emotional health of students in a professional, confidential, respectful, and caring manner.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage health issues of children including medication administration
  • Triage health needs of children across residential, school, and CBAT program including conducting initial and routine assessments to monitor the health status of all children
  • Provide age-appropriate medical and dental education and guidance to children including skill-building around activities of daily living
  • Collaborate and consult with childcare staff, supervisors, parents, and collaterals regarding the medical needs of their children; maintain excellent relationships and communicate with outside agencies, physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, and client’s families; relay all important information back to all staff in a clear and concise manner
  • Function as Nurse Monitor for the Medication Administration Program (MAP), providing oversight of medication administration and documentation within the school and residences
  • Attend and actively participate in department meetings and multidisciplinary treatment team meetings in order to enhance the medical care of all youth
  • Develop and maintain positive, nurturing relationships with children by offering support and encouragement during routine interactions as well as when addressing a medical need.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license, pediatric experience preferred
  • Bachelors of Nursing degree preferred
  • Must have a valid MA driver’s license and DEEC CORI/DCF background check
  • MAP experience/Med Delegation a plus. Will train strong candidates in MAP

40 hours/week

Starting pay $40/hour
