JOB STATEMENT: Responsible for coordinating School and Residential staffing schedules, managing the relief staff pool, and working closely with management teams to ensure appropriate program coverage.  Excellent communication and organization skills, attention to detail, computer skills, and people skills are required for this position.

 


 

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Bachelors degree preferred; minimum four years experience working in human services/mental health field. Residential experience preferred.

 MENTAL DEMANDS: Work well as part of a team and maintain professional boundaries.

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 7am-3pm

 

 


 

Essential Responsibilities

    • DCF Medication Administration Certification (MAP), First Aid, CPR, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Certification are required to be successfully completed before the end of the 90 day new employee probation period and are required to be maintained throughout employment.  Employees will also be required to complete a CARE 5 day certification course during first year of employment. Agency scheduled and required trainings, E-Learning trainings as assigned, and any other program specific training as scheduled.  Continued skill development and maintain certifications.
    • Must have a valid MA driver’s license and DEEC CORI/DSS background check
      • Coordinate School and Residential staff schedules by creating the base schedule and then filling holes in the schedule to ensure as much as possible a schedule that is 100% complete going into each week, taking into account scheduled vacation time for staff, staff on leave, etc. EMT, RMT, and Support Managers will manage the day to day of these schedules such as calls outs, need for additional staff due to client related issues, added overnights when client to staff ratios are higher than usual, etc.
      • Coordinate staff schedules for holidays, school, and summer vacations.
      • Work closely with HR and Doc/Data Manager to monitor and reduce overtime hours; objective is to distribute work hours to relief staff first as much as possible to reduce overtime costs, and when necessary to use full-time staff outside of their scheduled shifts, and closely monitor hours to avoid overworking staff.
      • Investigate trends in schedules, such as extra staffing needs in certain programs, 1:1 needs for youth, etc. Help monitor 1:1 staffing needs to ensure Brandon gets reimbursed for this service as often as possible.
      • Ensure there are MAP certified staff assigned to ALL shifts at each house.
      • Understand the school and residential program dynamics by visiting sites throughout the week; meeting employees; attend new employee orientation to meet new staff, etc. This position requires fully understanding the staffing needs of varying programs. It is essential that relief staff be assigned to houses based on their strengths.
      • Manage the relief pool by assisting with recruitment and hiring as appropriate, calling them weekly, facilitating bi-monthly relief pool staff meetings and trainings, and implementing systems for them to easily be aware of available shifts and easy access to sign up for those shifts (web based sign up programs)
      • Meet regularly with members of HR, EMT, and RMT to ensure an efficient scheduling system
      • Represent the agency in a highly professional manner.
      • Work within program policy and guidelines to provide program services.
      • Work as part of a team to identify needs and strategies to meet those needs.
      • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisory or administrative staff.

     

    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
