Short-Term Diagnostic Assessment

Brandon's Diagnostic Assessment Services provide in-depth evaluation of the functioning and needs of boys and their families in a time-limited placement. Length of stay varies from 30 - 90 days depending on the requested level of assessment. Staff prepare a comprehensive report and make recommendations based on information gathered on psychological, psychopharmacological, medical, educational, behavioral, social and family functioning. Short-Term Diagnostic Services are housed in specifically designed facilities on Brandon's main campus to minimize transitions and maximize safety.

Goals of Short-Term Diagnostic Assessment Services:
  •  To stabilize behavior while providing a corrective learning experience
  •  To identify strengths and areas for improvement for boys and their families
  •  To identify underlying issues and begin intervention
  •  To assess levels of psychological, social, behavioral, educational, peer and family functioning
  •  To provide practical treatment and aftercare recommendations
  •  To provide transition support to boys and their families
