Hospital Diversion (ART/CBAT)

The Hospital Diversion Program offers an alternative to inpatient hospitalization for a wide range of at-risk boys who are capable of functioning in an unlocked setting. This program provides highly structured and staff-secure services emphasizing accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, stabilization and safety. A psychiatric interview by a board-certified psychiatrist occurs within 24 hours of admission. The program utilizes focused, goal-oriented treatment to stabilize boys experiencing a wide range of acute psychiatric crises. This managed care model is provided in a non-institutionalized, safe and secure setting. Behavioral presentations of boys in this program range from being withdrawn and guarded to physically aggressive, often with impaired reality testing. Active individualized treatment plans, intensive work with families, aggressive discharge planning involving ancillary treatment providers and multi-disciplinary approaches all contribute to shortened lengths of stay.
